A.M. @rt is an artist based in Larchmont, New York.

I am self-taught, moved by a constant need to create. Over the years, I have wandered through many medium — oil and acrylic, pencil and wood, ceramics, and furniture.

For a long time, wood held me. Its fine veneers, its solid grain, and the ancient fire of shou sugi ban became ways of sculpting both surface and memory.

Now I return to earth. Clay has become my focus — its forms, its endless possibilities in glaze and fire.
At the Clay Art Center in Port Chester, I learn, experiment, and share in a community that gives depth and warmth to the work.

My pieces draw from Japanese tradition, where a bowl is never only a bowl, but a pause, a silence, a place for light.

Forms are minimalist, organic. Glazes are quiet—soft celadon, warm shino, and bold black depths. I believe in objects that feel familiar the first time you hold them, yet reveal themselves with each use.
